The 2 things in Philly we didn't see yet

Today we went to the (believed) first penitentiary ever and it was really cool.  It had all the bedding and chairs and everything about the jail still in it.  They have a surprisingly good walk through with headset narrators.  The definition of a penitentiary is a jail that is supposed to make the convict seek penance or remorse.  The jail was originally a complete isolation prison in which none of the prisoners saw or heard each other.  Then right after we went to the place where Benjamin franklin lived and they even have his privy spot marked there. We were going to go to the museum thats there but it is closed for renovations which sucked.  For linner (lunch and dinner combined) we had the most amazing Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich that I'm probably going to have in my entire life at Johns Roast Pork Sandwiches.

Rita's and no its not a person

We had a downer day 2 days ago and we needed it because of all the walking and riding the bus/subway we did the previous day.  I was kinda over talkative that day and at the end of it we went to Rita's for a gelati.  Oh my god, it was amazing! Its flavored ice mixed with custard and the custard is like whipped cream.

Philadelphia

Yesterday we stayed at my mom's friend Linda's daughters house.  At like ten the next day we went to the inner city and went on a tour of Independence Hall for free.  It felt amazing to stand where our country was announced a country.  Then we went to see the Liberty Bell and Benjamin Franklin's grave site.  Later we went to see Edgar Allan Poe's house and that was really just awesome because I love Poe's poems and short stories. We also went to the Mutter Museum and that was really cool with all of the strange deformations and preserved body parts they have.

driving driving and more driving

where the father was murdered

the mother was killed on the floor

Two days ago we drove through 6 states in a matter of 5 hours.  On the way to Philadelphia we stopped at the Lizzie Borden house and that was cool because I sat where the body of the father was and then was in the room where the mother was killed.  It was very interesting how the motive for the killings had even a time span in which the murder was supposed to be dealt.  The father was going to make it so then his properties were divided amongst the rest of the family and so it didn't all go to to Lizzie and her sister.  But when we got to Philadelphia it was hotter than hell and extremely humid, the worst combination on the planet.

BBQ and the largest arcade in the world

Anthony

Savannah

Three days ago we went to the largest arcade in the world.  It had 3 floors just packed full of arcade games from the original Mario to nascar racing games, it was just amazing.  That night we went to a BBQ with Jennifer and Anthony and it was kinda fun. We ate some awesome pork chops and later had  smores with gigantic marshmallows.  I met a little young girl with lots of character and she just coouldnt say my name properly.  She kept saying innations.  It was sooo cute.

Boston and Salem

Yesterday we went to Boston to see the Gardner Art Museum and it was just beautiful. The museum is set up like a house and security is very high because 14 paintings got stolen in 1990.  We spent the rest of the afternoon getting to the Quincy Market and that was really cool because we saw  a street performer juggle a chainsaw and some knives 12 feet in the air.  In the evening we went to Salem for a tour about the Salem witch trials and  some of the murders and ghosts that live in the neighborhood houses.

a fun filled day

Yesterday we went caving and that was fun and cool but it was very commercialized and was for people who just started caving and not for people that didn't need the boards at the bottom of the cave to keep their feet steady.  After we got back to our temporary home, with my moms old high school friend, we went out to go rollerskating and I met some new people there and found  that the skates were used like speed skates.
